Martial arts, a commonly heard term, is usually believed to mean any sort of “fighting” style or even some games which include combat and weapons, which however it is not!

Literal meaning of Martial arts is Arts of War. However, now a days it’s mostly referred to games and fighting styles which include combat of some sort.

Throughout history, almost all civilizations had their defense (or offense) systems and had a military or team of people who kept themselves ready to fight in a war situation. This could be properly declared war, or a gorilla warfare or of any sort of martial activity.

These days however, as elites of the society feel uncomfortable having warriors around them, they have limited the learning and teaching practices of martial arts and they are now only confined to the Military. And in turn, general public is motivated to learn and spend time in GAMES (like judo, taekwondo, etc ) calling them Martial Arts.
